Description: The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific is one of the world's leading centres for teaching and research on the region. The College has its roots in the University’s Research School of Pacific Studies and the School of Oriental Languages, founded in 1946 and 1952 respectively.

Description: Seminar programs on themes ranging from East Asian art history to Chinese current events. The Center organizes research projects and major international conferences. It also provides a forum for regular dialogue between the academic and policy communities in China and the United States. Postdoctoral fellowships. Own specialized library.

Comment: Extensive visiting scholars program. Serves academic, government, business, and artistic communities.

Description: The Institute for Chinese Studies at Oxford University carries out teaching and research in social science disciplines, including economics, social anthropology, political history and international relations. Chinese Studies in Oxford formally began in 1876 with the appointment of the missionary-scholar James Legge as its first Professor of Chinese. His critical translations of the Confucian scriptures and other classic texts are still used today. A full honours degree in the Chinese Studies has been taught in Oxford since the late 1940s.
Comment: Focus on classical Chinese Studies.

China and Asia-Pacific Studies (CAPS), Cornell University, USA

Description: CAPS major gives students experience both on- and off-campus, including three years in Ithaca, one semester in Washington, D.C, and one semester in Beijing.

French Centre on Research on Contemporary China

Description: The French Centre for Research on Contemporary China (CEFC) was founded in 1991 as a publicly financed research institute, based in Hong Kong; our offices in Taipei were opened in 1994.
