Description: is the authorized government portal site to China, It is published under the auspices of the State Council Information Office and the China International Publishing Group (CIPG) in Beijing. The site offers broad access to up-to-date news about China, with searchable texts of government position papers and a wealth of basic information about Chinese history, politics, economics and culture.

Comment: China's government point of view. Wiki Lots of useful information about China. Government agencies, statistics, biographies of political leaders, tourist information, detailed descriptions of all provinces.

Comment: Excellent! Focused on scholarly web links.

Description: The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific is one of the world's leading centres for teaching and research on the region. The College has its roots in the Universitys Research School of Pacific Studies and the School of Oriental Languages, founded in 1946 and 1952 respectively. Comment: Probably the best place for Asian Studies.

Description: AccessAsia is a specialized search engine that focuses on experts in the field of contemporary Asian affairs, including economics, health, politics, security, and trade.

Comment: Scans websites for biographical information. Rather unspecific and lost of unrelated output. - The Complete Reference to China / Chinese-Related Web Sites

Description: Large collection of web links on China from a private web company founded by Weiqing Huang, a graduate from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, USA. Comment: More than 8,5000 links; very broad scope; not much on science and research.
